Christmas Time

We are finally winding down from the all Christmas dinners and parties.  There was a ton of driving, gift opening and of course eating!  Hope you all had a wonderful holiday with your family.
I made these pillows for my families white elephant game and my boyfriend made the succulent container with some madrone he milled from our property.  I made the pillows from some scrap fabric I had, mostly all from designer Lotta Jansdotter.  They measure 18'' by 18''.

My lil Taj Christmas morning.

Taj got a new swing, now we just have to find the right tree for it!

Honey Cowl

I finished another cowl just in time for this chilly weather.  It is a gift for a very good friend of mine.  I know she will love the color!  The pattern is the honey cowl by Madelinetosh.  The yarn I used was Madelinetosh worsted in light denim.  I casted on 160 stitches and used a size 10 needle.  It turned out just right and I used the whole skein.  I just love this yarn!
Hope you are all staying warm this winter, wait it's not even officially winter yet:)

Quilted Pillow

I love this new pillow I made for my couch.  Lately I have been trying to use up some of my scrap fabrics and put them to good use.  It measures 18''x 18''.  I see more of these in the future!  Hope you all are having a nice lazy Saturday:)

Fall in the Woods

I am just loving fall here in the Pacific Northwest.  The leaves are mostly done falling and there has been lots of knitting going on in my house.  My favorite new finished project is my half twist cowl.  I found the pattern for free on Ravelry.  The yarn is Madelinetosh worsted merino in fig, I just love this yarn.  It has just the right hints of purple mixed in the brown and it is super soft.

We haven't had much rain lately, so we get to spend plenty of hours out in the yard.  We are hoping for some more rain in future.

I have already started knitting a new scarf in Madelinetosh denim.  This time I am trying the honey cowl pattern, which I also found on Ravelry.  This will be a gift for a special friend.

Home Sweet Home Embroidery

I finished this embroidery last week.  Now I just need to find the perfect frame for it.  It measures about 15'' x 12''.  The fabric is yarn dyed linen in denim.  I love the little flower and leaf wreath surrounding the home.
I am 24 weeks now and the belly is getting big!

More Goodies for my Baby Boy!

I just love sewing for my baby boy.  I made him three pairs of Anna Maria Horner's Quick Change Trousers.  The first two pairs are size 3-6 months.  The third pair is 6-9 months, which was going to be a gift for my nephew who is 7 months, but they looked too small, so I am going to make him the 12-18 month size.  I love how you can roll up the bottoms and that they are reversible.

Knitting for my Baby Boy!

Last week we found out we are having another baby boy!  I am so excited to be able to make lots of goodies for him.  I already knitted him a little sweater and two pairs of socks.  I so can't wait to snuggle him!!

The sweater is made from Malabrigo Rios yarn in Sunset with vintage buttons.  The pattern is from More Last Minute Knitted Gifts by Joelle Hoverson.
The socks pattern is from the same book.  The yarn for the green pair are Malabrigo Rios and the gray yarn is Blue Sky Alpacas Techno.  Now onto sewing him some little outfits:)

Knit Toe-up Socks

I finished these knit socks just in time for the cold weather.  They took me several months to complete.  The pattern is from the book More Last-Minute Knitted Gifts by Joelle Hoverson.  They are little gift I made for myself:)  I used Anzula Squishy in Seaside, which has a little bit of cashmere mixed in!

I can't wait to make more knit socks!

Solid Triangle Quilt

I am so excited to finally be able to share my solid triangle quilt.  This was a wedding present for my partner's brother and his beautiful new wife, who tied the knot last week.  The pattern is from the book Liberty Love by Alexia Abegg.  The quilt measures 59'' by 65''.  I hand quilted larger triangles throughout the quilt.

Here is a cloud embroidery sampler I made this summer on natural linen.

Cross Quilt

Finally getting around to posting some photos of new cross quilt I finished about a month ago.
The block is from a new book I bought called Fat-Quarterly-Shape-Workshop-Quilters.  The book has so many great blocks and a lot of good ideas.  I used a assortment of fabric for the blocks.  A majority of the fabric from one of my favorite designers Lotta Jansdotter.  The grey is from Robert Kaufman Quilter's Linen collection.

The quilt measures 72'' x 96''.  I machine quilted it with my walking foot.  I love how the binding turned out.

Dresden Plate Quilt

Here is my first quilt finish for 2013.  It is also my first dresden plate quilt.  I used all vintage or thrifted fabrics, except the natural colored linen that surrounds each dresden plate.   I originally was going to make 24 plates, but ended up with 9.  Each plate can be very time consuming:) Here's a link to the pattern I used:
Dresden plate block

I machine quilted the borders and edges, and hand quilted around each dresden plate.  The quilt measures 62'' by 69''.  Each block is 16''x 16''.

Easy Linen Shirt

I made a new shirt for my son Taj.  It is the Easy Linen Shirt from the book Sewing for Boys.  The fabric was from my stash, it is a quilting weight cotton.

The sleeves are a little long for my little guy.  I made it in size 2/3.  Lil Taj is 2 1/2 years old.

Taj loved his little photo shoot, and couldn't wait to see the pictures on the camera.  I think 2 1/2 is my favorite age so far.  He is so loving and finally he can say some words:)

I also have to share this tunic top I made for my etsy shop.
You can check it out in my shop: www.etsy.com/shop/TajandMe

And since April is my birthday month, I have made a coupon code: bday2013, for 15% of your order of $10.00 or more!
