More Rain Please!

Well it rained a little yesterday.  Yes just a little.  Oh how I crave some good old rain!  Anyways life goes on for now, as the water still flows.  I hit the 33 week marker this week and thought I better document the size of my baby bump.  I chose the softest, largest, greenest Black oak tree I could find for my backdrop.  Lots of sewing going on too!  I made 30, 12 inch log cabin blocks from scrap material both vintage and non vintage.  Here is a link to the pattern I used http://dragonfly-.fabrics.blogspot.com/2013/08/tutorial-time-log-cabin-quilt-blocks.html
I love the look of the larger center block and they are so easy to make.  I just need some back ground fabric, I am thinking a nice soft white.  Lots more baby sewing too.  For some reason I feel my boy needs lots of handmade baby shoes.  I am working on two pairs right now, then it is on to making him a baby in the hood jacket.  It's hard to think of cute baby items to make him since he will only be little in the warm weather months.  Well only about 7 more weeks and he will be here! I can't wait!

New Gloves

I recently finished a pair of knitted fingerless gloves.  They are perfect for this non-winter we are having here in California.  It has not been a good winter for knitting and summer will be here before we know it!
The pattern is Rye which is free on Ravelry.com.  I used lace weight Madelinetosh yarn in Betine.
I bought buttons to put on them, but some how they disappeared once I got home.  I might not even attach them when I find them:)
Well I am hopeful for rain!

For My Boys

I made these sweet little elephants for my boys.  Only 10 more weeks and I get to meet my baby boy.  We are all getting so excited.  I still have a few more things I want to sew for him.
Thanks for looking!
