His and Her Pillows

Last night my goal was to make a pair of pillowcases for my boyfriend and myself, and I completed that goal.  I used Joel Dewberry's pattern from his book Sewn Spaces.  That pattern seemed to be missing parts and kind of vague, but I managed to make them.  I added a hem at the end, where the directions didn't call for one.  My favorite part was making the piping, I had never done that before.  I think the pattern is meant to make king size pillowcaese, but the pattern does not state.  They still look good on my standard pillows.

When I got these fabric prints in the mail, I knew I had to make something I use everyday!
The top pillow is Anna Maria Horner Lou Lou Thi Fabric and the bottom pillo is Amy Butler from her Daisy Chain collection.  And the border is Lizzy House Pearl Bracelets in brown.

Tote Bags

These tote bags are a quick easy project.  They are great for shopping with or for using as gift bags.  Taj likes to put his toys in them and carry them around.  I used the tutorial from Purl Bee, here is the link to the tutorial: 20 minute tote
They took me longer then 20 minutes, but I guess I take my time.  The large one is for my mom to carry  her ebay items to the post office.  I will definitely be making more of these in the future.

My First Dress!

Here is my first article of clothing I made for myself.  The pattern is Simplicity 2586 and fabric by Anna Maria Horner Little Folks in lilac.  The pattern was not too difficult and it even has pockets.  The only thing is you have to wear a belt with the dress, or else you have no waist.  I just love the fabric, it will be great for hot summer days.  Today I wore it to our local art and wine in the park!
