Chevron Grocery Tote

Oh how I love chevron! The oh so trendy chevron.  Anyways here's a chevron grocery tote from one of my favorite books One-Yard Wonders.  This is my second grocery tote I have made from this pattern and find it is pretty easy to put together.  The fabric is from premier prints.

Happy Birthday Grandma Nan!

Baby Booties!

I made these Cutie Booties from Amy Butler's Little Stitches book and just had to pair it with a little mushroom applique onesie.  The booties were a little difficult for a beginner sewer like me, but I am pretty satisfied with how they turned out.  The orange fabric I got at a yard sale and the green is spirographix by Benartex.  I think I am going to use the rest of the spirographix fabric to make Taj a pair of pants or shorts.

Hot Pads

I made some hot pads this week.  These were really fun to make and pretty easy.  I used a pattern from one of my favorite books One-Yard Wonders.  The fabric is Amy Butler for the print and the solids are from Pure Elements from Art Gallery.  I have not tested them out.  I hope I got the right kind of batting for the inside, I bought thermolam Plus by Pellon from Joanns.  I had a fun time doing the free motion circles for the quilting!

I also made a few applique baby onesies.

My first apron!

I made a short pleated apron from Amy Butler's In Stitches book.  This was my first apron I have made and it was surprising pretty easy.  The fabric for the body is Amy Butler (love it) and for the trim I used Art Gallery pure elements in empire yellow (another one of my favorites).  It has been sunny here and Taj no longer naps, so not too much sewing going on:)

Tree Quilt!

So I finally finished Taj's tree quilt, yipee. Oh boy does he love it!  His room is not quite ready for it though, he is still in a crib:)  I machine appliqued each tree and used a lot of wood grain fabrics. I used Amy Butler fabric, Valori Wells fabric, lots of Joel Dewberry fabric and many others.  The pictures are not the best, it is raining today so no outside pics.

I got the idea for the front of the quilt here on flickr.
The back I made up as I went along, trying to use up some scraps.  I had a lot of fun making this quilt.
One last photo..............
He gets mad when I try to put it away:)
