Cross Quilt

Finally getting around to posting some photos of new cross quilt I finished about a month ago.
The block is from a new book I bought called Fat-Quarterly-Shape-Workshop-Quilters.  The book has so many great blocks and a lot of good ideas.  I used a assortment of fabric for the blocks.  A majority of the fabric from one of my favorite designers Lotta Jansdotter.  The grey is from Robert Kaufman Quilter's Linen collection.

The quilt measures 72'' x 96''.  I machine quilted it with my walking foot.  I love how the binding turned out.

Dresden Plate Quilt

Here is my first quilt finish for 2013.  It is also my first dresden plate quilt.  I used all vintage or thrifted fabrics, except the natural colored linen that surrounds each dresden plate.   I originally was going to make 24 plates, but ended up with 9.  Each plate can be very time consuming:) Here's a link to the pattern I used:

I machine quilted the borders and edges, and hand quilted around each dresden plate.  The quilt measures 62'' by 69''.  Each block is 16''x 16''.

Easy Linen Shirt

I made a new shirt for my son Taj.  It is the Easy Linen Shirt from the book Sewing for Boys.  The fabric was from my stash, it is a quilting weight cotton.

The sleeves are a little long for my little guy.  I made it in size 2/3.  Lil Taj is 2 1/2 years old.

Taj loved his little photo shoot, and couldn't wait to see the pictures on the camera.  I think 2 1/2 is my favorite age so far.  He is so loving and finally he can say some words:)

I also have to share this tunic top I made for my etsy shop.
You can check it out in my shop: www.etsy.com/shop/TajandMe

And since April is my birthday month, I have made a coupon code: bday2013, for 15% of your order of $10.00 or more!

Tova # 2

Here is Tova top # 2!  It was so much easier then the first one, and I worked out some of my kinks.
The fabric is a rayon poly mix black gingham print from Joann's, a cheap choice, but still made a nice shirt.   My next tova will be a tank, since summer is just around the corner:)

My lil cutie Taj and I getting ready to go on a play date, we even match!
                  Have a wonderful weekend! Amanda

Knitting for baby

I made this little Teddy bear for my new nephew Liam, who should be here any day now.  The pattern is from the book Knitting for Baby.  I felted this little guy, well I tried at least.  I washed him on hot about five times.  I can't remember what brand of yarn I used, but it is a wool blend.

Here's lil Tajie helping his daddy gravel our road.  Thanks for looking~ Amanda

Spring is here

Spring has arrived here in the Pacific Northwest.  I love watching my yard begin to change.
Some pot holders for my father, using Joel Dewberry's oak tree print.

Taj loves filling up my water can, what a nice boy.
Happy Spring

First Tova Top

Here is my first Tova top. I used a thin brown voile. I really like how it turned out. I had some difficulty putting the placket to the front of the blouse and experienced some puckering at the corners. Not sure why it happened, maybe I put the drill hole in the wrong place. I made mine in a medium and it fits perfect, except the cuffs are slightly tight. I can't wait to make my next one:)
